This family owned, boutique winery is ideally located on The Black Sage Bench, outside Oliver, BC on some of the most sought-after terroir in the Okanagan. Sitting on 24 acres of some of the finest vineyard land in the South Okanagan, Desert Hills estate property produces some of the best full-bodied reds and elegant white wines in the valley, truly expressing the exquisite quality of wine British Columbia has to offer.
Starting as growers, the Toor brothers learned the business literally, from the ground up. Randy, Jessie and Dave Toor learned wine in the vineyards, and this serves as the background of their philosophy in making great wine – memorable, award winning wines can only be achieved with wonderful grapes and Love.
Desert Hills Prides itself on having a vast and diversified portfolio to allow everyone from young to old, and adventurous to conventional to find something they like. If you don’t know what you like, Desert Hills has extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff who are more than happy to teach and provide recommendations in a non-judgmental environment. As well we are more than happy to ‘nerd out’ with anyone who many have more experience with wine and wants to dive deep into the wine making process.
Desert Hills is currently in the process of releasing a new line of wine called ‘Flora & Fauna’ as a new leaf to the ever-growing tree of wine produced. This line of wines will feature passion projects by the wine makers in new and adventurous styles never seen by Desert Hills.
This year Desert Hills has opened their new restaurant, The Black Sage Bistro, under head chef Andrew Kraeft. The bistro will feature local Okanagan products in a fun and unique way while overlooking the beautiful estate vineyard.
Desert Hills has recently received the prestigious award of Canada’s #3 Top Small Winery 2019-Wine Align as well as being a two-time recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for excellence in winemaking and the winner of Canada’s Best Red Wine.
